Continuing the Tradition

I had the opportunity to visit Wert Angus Ranch near Aurora, Neb., in early March.  The family operation consists of 240 Angus cattle and 2,500 acres of white corn. After driving by their lot of Angus cow-calf pairs, I found Robert and Tamera Wert along with their 17-year-old son, Bryce, and 13-year-old daughter, Riley and Accelerated Genetics ISR Dennis Comer and his assistant Cheyanne Barnhill enjoying morning conversation and coffee cake in their shop.  After accepting a piece of the coffee cake from Tamara and listening to the conversations of the cattle and farm combined with the occasional joke and laughter, I followed the crew to the breeding barn.
